Product Options on TtaKkaa (Size, Color, Add-ons): One Product Instead of Ten

Picture a clothing shop selling one shirt in 4 sizes and 3 colors. Without an options system, the owner would have to register 12 separate products in the catalog for the exact same shirt, which clutters inventory and reporting. TtaKkaa solves this with product options and variants.

The problem: same product, different specs

Simple systems make the owner register every spec as a separate product, so instead of seeing "Shirt X" once, they see "Shirt X S blue", "Shirt X M blue", "Shirt X L red"... and so on. This makes searching for a product slower, scatters reports, and makes inventory hard to track.

How TtaKkaa solves it

With TtaKkaa, you register the product once, and add option groups to it:

  1. A "size" group (S, M, L, XL) — each size has its own stock balance.
  2. A "color" group (red, blue, black) — same idea, an independent balance per color.
  3. Priced "add-on" groups (like extra cheese, or a bigger drink size) — each add-on with its own extra price if needed.

Inventory updates for exactly the option sold, not the whole product. Today that stock split is already live; the cashier's own unified picker screen for choosing size/color/add-ons at the point of sale is coming in the next cashier update — until then, set up the options in the catalog and ring them up as you do today.

An example from cafés

A café selling a "latte" in different sizes (small, medium, large) with optional add-ons (an extra espresso shot, plant-based milk) can register all of it under a single "latte" product now. The cashier screen that lets the cashier pick the size and add-ons at order time, with the price calculated automatically for every priced add-on, is coming in the next cashier update.

The same experience for the customer ordering

These options aren't limited to the cashier — a customer ordering from the TtaKkaa app or from table QR sees the same sizes, colors, and add-ons, and picks from them before confirming their order, so there's no difference between what the cashier sees and what the customer sees.

The numbers, honestly

Instead of dozens of duplicate products in your catalog for the same item, you get one product with its options, making it easier to add new products, review reports, and track inventory without clutter.

If your shop sells the same product in different specs

If you run a clothing, electronics, or even a café shop that sells the same product in different sizes, colors, or add-ons, read the story of a clothing shop already using these options or an electronics shop that started with them from day one.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to set a separate price for every option?

If the options change the price (e.g. size XL costs more than S), you can set a different price per option. If the price is the same across all sizes, leave it uniform and just vary the available quantity per option.

How are add-ons (like adding cheese to a sandwich) priced?

You set an extra price for each add-on in the catalog today. The cashier's unified picker that adds it to the order and auto-calculates the total is coming in the next cashier update.

Do these options also work in the customer app, not just the cashier?

Yes, a customer ordering from the app or from a table QR sees the same sizes, colors, and add-ons, and picks from them before confirming the order.
